Brigid awoke in the woods near her house.

It wasn't the first time she'd done so, not here and not at home. Being so connected to the Earth meant that often she'd hike in the outdoors and sometimes rest herself against a tree and fall into a nap, or even full sleep.

This was, though, the first time she'd awakened at the sun's rise, naked as the day she was born, with no knowledge of how she'd gotten there.

"Right then. Somethin's more than a little off with ye, lass," she told herself even though there was no one around to hear her but the trees.

There was something else off, or maybe on was a better word for it. She felt rested, truly rested, for the first time in weeks. As she sat, then stood up and stretched, Brigid did a little self-inventory and smiled. Gone was the nagging fatigue, the fuzziness in her mind. Instead, there was a feeling of being able to take on anything that came her way.

She laughed and dashed for the water for a quick ocean swim as the sun cleared the horizon. She'd revel in the water a bit, change, then head in to the shop. Her fingers nearly itched to get to her clay, to see what it would tell her to create today.

"I suppose I'll use the towel, I don't need to make my attraction anymore obvious," he said, stepping just outside the doorway to towel himself off before wrapping it around his waist and stepping inside.

"You're welcome to watch it as often as you'd like, I've never been shy about performing. Also, I wouldn't mind feeling your magic against me."

Brigid only smiled at his comment about making his interest known and didn't look again, though it was tempting. She'd been gifted her magic by the goddess, but Jack had been more than a bit blessed as well. She had a moment to wonder if all sirens were similar, but she'd think about that later.

"I've had m'fill of a view fer now, and quite an impressive one at that," she offered, preparing the kettle and cakes, considering. "Ye know, I dunno that ye'd be able t'feel m'magic. It's not about spells and potions as some here use. It's more a discussion with the elements an askin them to do as I bid."

"You're welcome to have more of a fill later," he added with a laugh. Even if nothing happened, flirting with Brigid was certainly a lot of fun. Plus, there had been the lovely view of her swimming was an excellent bonus.

"I could feel it when you did something to the ocean, but that might have just been being so receptive as a siren."

"Could be at that," Brigid commented, considering, "if ye have a connection with th'element I'm workin with. I've never known sirens since comin here, never known witches either, come t'that. M'family's descended from the gods and goddesses of old and that's where our gifts come from. I never imagined there were others, I certainly never met any in Ireland."

She paused after pouring him a cup from the kettle and looked up at him through her eyelashes, feeling more than a bit revved at the mental image his flirty comment had shown her. "Ye have a way with words then, haven't ye, Jack?"

"Most people I'd call crazy if they told me they were descended from a goddess. But you're not most people, are you?" he asked. There was certainly something about her, although that could just be his libido talking.

"I have a way with a lot of things. Have you ever had a siren use their abilities on you?"

"Aye, I'm not. I'm also not one t'give much of a bleedin fuck if others b'lieve me or think me mad for what I know t'be true," Brigid commented with an easy smile. "That might be part of it. I'm not tryin t'convince anyone, simply statin what is."

She poured her own tea, sipped at it. "No, or not so as I'd recognize it if they have. I've heard Bailey sing, and the happiness it can make me feel, but apart from that, I don't believe I have." There was a memory there, of Bailey telling her about what he could do with his powers. As she wasn't powerless herself, she wasn't worried overmuch about Jack. "Are ye thinkin of givin me a demonstration?"

"I like people who don't give a fuck," Robert told her, more attracted to her than ever. He wasn't necessarily one for being "just who he was" but there was something attractive about people who were fine with being who they are, you had to take them and leave them.

"Just a small demonstration. I wouldn't try to alter your mind, just manipulate some of your senses."

"Ah, but there are many things I do give a fuck about," she countered, sipping, "but what others think about me doesn't make the list."

Brigid contemplated him with a long look as she considered. She pulled at the breeze while she did so, watching the curtain's flutter with it. "As long as I keep m'wits about me, I'm fine with a bit of experimentin."

"What would you say are some of the things you do care about?"

One of the wonderful things about having rather flexible morals is that when you knew what other people thought were important, you could care more or less about them depending. He could imagine she would care deeply about the environment and while he didn't care much about it, he wouldn't say as much.

"You'll keep your wits, I promise."

He let his power was over her, thrumming up her body in pleasure. It wasn't orgasmic, not quite, more like the sensation of being held comfortably mixed with sexual pleasure. I rolled up her, from her toes to her head, leaving a pleasant tingle behind.

"That's th'puzzle, innit? Figurin what makes others tick and twitch? Th' fun part is findin out without bein handed a road map from th'off," Brigid replied easily as she set down her mug and prepared for whatever sensation his magic might cause.

She was prepared to either feel nothing or feel the panicked, trapped feeling she'd once endured in a Dublin alley, but nothing of either sort happened. Instead, it was as if she'd dipped into a warm, fragrant bath but with a hint of desire mingled into the mix. All things considered, it was a very pleasant feeling indeed. "I take it that's a power ye use often? T'the delight, I'm sure, of whomever's warmin yer sheets?"

"Well, I know you like hiking and swimming in the nude. I'm also guessing... dentL care is a hobby of yours. With that smile, dental care is definitely something you're passionate about," he joked. She had a sort of natural, easy beauty about herself that couldn't be imitated with any sort of routine. Maybe it came from being a goddess.

"It has it's uses. I can stave off release or give it almost on command. It makes dinner dates a lot of fun."

"Hmm, that's close, but not quite," Brigid smiled with a cheeky little twinkle in her eye, "but I do have a care about keepin m'teeth in m'head and not yanked out by a dentist. On that note yer spot on."

She called in a breeze off the water to soothe skin still heated after his demonstration, then laughed at the idea. "I was about t'say ye'd never do that to a dinner companion, but somethin about th'glint in yer eyes tells me ye have, and will again. Dunno whether t'envy or pity yer dinner mates."

"Just give me time, I'll figure out a soul defining truth about you yet," he said. It was partially a joke but Robert was generally very good with people. Maybe he couldn't see into their souls all that quickly but he could read them well enough.

"Well, I haven't gotten any complaints about it. They generally make me pay in one way or another."

Brigid toasted him with her mug and grinned over the top of it, remembering all too clearly how his magic felt and able to imagine what it would be like on full power. "I can't imagine ye would have complaints, no. And I'm willin t'guess that ye don't have any complaints about the payment demanded, either."

Robert toasted back and took a sip. The tea was excellent, which didn't surprise him in the least. Even if the company wasn't so great he'd find a reason to stop by just for the tea alone.

"None at all, I'm willing to get as good as I give."

"Somehow, I don't doubt that a bit," Brigid replied, still sipping easily before pulling in another breeze from the window to cool her still heated skin.

Robert could feel the breeze and assumed that it was something that she was doing, seeing as how it was quite that breezy outside. He wondered if she had similar control over all the elements.

"I'm sorry, I didn't think what I had done would leave such lasting effects."

"Don't ye worry, s'not like I'm over here havin vapours or some bollocks like that," Brigid said with a wave of her hand, "I'm just feelin a bit of the flush still and movin th'air about helps. I've been somewhat off the past few weeks and feel m'self again for th'first time in an age. Or thought I did. Maybe I'm still more off than I thought."

"There are more fun ways to deal with that feeling," Robert said, smiling as he took another sip of the tea. If she was going to take him up on his flirting she would have likely done so by now but she was so very fun to flirt with.

"Aye, there are," Brigid commented, licking her lips lightly. "And I'm takin it that yer interested in explorin those other ways, are ye?"

"It would be unkind of me to get you all hot and bothered and not offer a solution," he said, leaning forward a bit as he spoke. There was something about her eyes that were incredibly captivating, they were absolutely gorgeous. "And I can tell you feel very... Alive right now. Don't you just want to let yourself go?"

Pointedly, Brigid reached up and touched the pulse point at her throat. "Aye, I am that. M'heart's beatin and m'lungs are pullin in all th'air I need. But somehow I'm thinkin that's not quite what yer meanin."

She leaned forward, just a little, letting her foot brush against his thigh. "Tell me, Jack. Are ye the romancin sort or are ye the type to just clear off a table and have yer way with a woman?"

"I was thinking more along the lines of up against the wall," he said, shifting a bit in his seat so her foot brushed a bit higher. He could feel his heart beat a bit faster, the thrill of the potential fucking exciting him. That sort of rush was almost as addictive to him as the actual sex.

"Then heading to the bed for a slower, proper cool down."

One eyebrow arched over soft blue eyes, even as her blood began to warm deliciously from his words and the implied actions. "Were ye now?" She licked her lips again, remembering the fine specimen of man that had walked out of the ocean just after she had. "I've always been fond of walls, m'self."

And couldn't she just picture those arms lifting her, positioning her, and...and it was all she could do to calm her breathing.

"Of course, the wall doesn't lend itself to too much access to the rest of the body," he said, one hand slipping down to take hold of her foot, his magic curling up through her as he pressed his thumb to the arch of her foot, massaging it.

"But it can be great for getting friction to all the right areas, for that heated, no-holds-bared kissing..."
